POS thermal rises by 9% as NCR grows self-serv; Smuckers up on K-Cups

Thermal paper prices jumped up by 9% this month in their biggest hop in at least three years, as converters remained rattled about supply and a major supplier likely exiting the market. With the 9% increase on POS thermal and an accompanying 5% increase on non-POS thermal papers, 55- and 48-g thermal POS non top coated paper to converters was up 18% in pricing this month vs a year ago in the USA, according to PPI Pulp & Paper Week.
