Xerium is the company that first introduced the synthetic forming fabric, then the X-Weave or extra-chute technology and then the revolutionary Huytexx, the first SSB forming fabric. But after the first synthetic single layer wires, SSB was the last big revolution in the industry, Fig 1. The same clothing and rolls specialist is now again leading the charge to a new era with engineered drainage channels (EDC); a completely new forming fabric design, patented worldwide. It is designed to offer papermakers significantly better production and resource utilization efficiency.
