Purchasing staffers at a U.K.Nissan plant have voted to strike after the company failed to consult with members of the Amicus Trade Union over relocation of the plant's 70-person purchasing department.Nissan U.K.plans to move its purchasing department some 240 miles from its existing location in Sunderland to an office in Cranfield,Bedfordshire,which places purchasing closer to a production plant.Employees were told of the move three months in advance and were required to provide notice by January first as to whether they could move to the new location by lune,2004.
