Shaw Industries (Dalton,GA) has agreed to acquire the U.S.nylon carpet fibers business of Honeywell for an undisclosed sum.Honeywell will retain the intermediates business,which produces caprolactam;Aegis brand nylon resins for fiber and plastic applications;ammonium sulfate;and other chemicals.Shaw,a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway,will acquire manufacturing facilities at Anderson,Clemson,and Columbia,SC,as well as the Anso and Zeftron brand names.
