OVERMOLDING is the molding process where one polymer material is moulded onto a rigid or soft material previously produced or co-produced. This last material can be a polymer or metal, glass, electronic device, textile, wood etc. According to the application, the bond can be strong (most often) or weak. The use of primers, adhesives, surface treatments, mechanical interlocking... can be needed or not, according to the nature of the materials and the desired level of linking.
