THOUGH Rapid Prototyping and 3-D Jetprinting have obviated the need of conventional trial moulds, one has to manufacture these nevertheless for injection moulding of pilot series and small batches of new products. Some existing standard bolsters save some time in mould making but these often called for compromises in quality and efficiency. Moreover, these also put severe limitations on the size of the mould inserts and consequently on the dimensions of the product.
