VARIOUS radiation sources like gamma radiation, electron beam accelerators, and UV light are known from a very long time. However, not all are suitable for application in the chemical synthesis process, due to their limitations. Gamma radiation is very penetrative, and has its inherent danger and liability. Electron beam accelerators are ideal for their penetrative and fast curing ability, but suffer enormous start-up costs. UV light has poor penetration ability and cannot be used for thick industrial samples. Recently, microwave curing has been explored as an affordable alternative to thermal curing.
