ATLANTA-No harmful health effects are expected to occur to those living near the Blue Ridge Plating site in Arden,N.C.,because the general public does not come into contact with chemicals from the site,the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry said in a report released March 19.The Blue Ridge Plating Site,comprising about three acres,is an active electroplating and metal finishing facility located in a light industrial area,ATSDR said,with activities at the site that use zinc,cadmium,chromium,tin,copper,cyanide,and black oxide.
