First Hybrid-Molded Rear Bumper Beam on Honda FCV

Thermoplastic composite materials from Lanxess, Pittsburgh, are featured in a "first-of-its-kind" rear bumper beam on Honda Motor's latest hydrogen electric vehicle, the FCV "Clarity Duel Cell" zero-emission vehicle. The composite materials and process result in approximately 50% weight reduction compared with a metal counterpart and a significant streamlining of the production process.
