Gazprom steps up talks with foreign majors on Shtokman gas

Russian gas monopoly Gazprom plans to hold talks this week with US oil majors,including ExxonMobil and Chevron,on their possible participation in the giant Shtokman gas project in the Barents Sea,a top Gazprom official said June 22."We expect to conduct a number of meetings with US companies,including ExxonMobil and Chevron,this week to discuss their possible participation in the Shtokman project,"said Igor Meshcherin,the head of Gazprom's projects department.
