Presentation was structured on the following lines. In the initial section, the recent projection on the global tea production, consumption and exports were highlighted. This was followed by sections on challenges facing the tea industry and major activities carried out by Tea Board. The world tea production level was estimated at 3.15 billion kgs in 2004, and the global tea supply was reported to be running ahead of apparent absorption by 3.4%.
