Scientists at Queen's Univ. in Belfast, Northern Ireland, have discovered an eco-friendly method of dissolving wood using ionic liquids. Their process could lay the foundation for a sustainable future where a variety of products, such as biofuels, textiles, clothes and paper, are made from bio-renewable resources.
