Balfour Beatty buys US contractor

The US Construction Services division of global infrastructure group Balfour Beatty has acquired Fru-Con Construction for a net cash consideration of US$20 million. Based in Virginia, US, Fru-Con is viewed as a leading water/wastewater infrastructure contractor, generating revenues of around US$80 million per year. Founded in 1872, Fru-Con is one of the oldest contractors in the US, and was acquired by Balfour Beatty from Bilfinger Berger.
