Leather from Australia's most famous animal, the kangaroo, could be on the rebound after California's governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, signed a bill in October to repeal the states 36-year-old ban on importing the material. The situation came to a head in the summer when California's Supreme Court upheld the ban, just as (arguably) the world's most famous user of kangaroo leather, footballer David Beckham, was arriving to begin his career with the Los Angeles Galaxy.
