Fifth Tannery of the Year Awards programme begins

World Leather has launched the 2015-2016 Tannery of the Year awards programme, aiming to find the best examples of tanneries across the world that have built the principles of corporate social responsibility into their way of working. All nominees are 100% committed to corporate social responsibility, working to help their communities and making the least impact on the environment they possibly can. They are all excellent examples of best practice in the leather industry. The 2013-2014 winners were celebrated in Shanghai in September 2014, with Germany's Wollsdorf Leather taking the global prize. For this fifth cycle, World Leather is grateful for the important backing of Buckman and support from the International Council of Tanners, the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, as well as from the APLF exhibition.
