Examples of Kering's leather breakthroughs fail to come to light

Claims from Kering chief executive, Frangois-Henri Pinault, that the group has shared with the wider leather industry the findings of years of work on new tanning methods are impossible to substantiate. Extensive discussions about developments involving new metal-free tanning methods have taken place inside the group and with its suppliers, but we have found no examples of information about the new methods spreading to companies outside the group's own circles. In mid-June, New York-based business publication Barron's named Mr Pinault in its World's Best CEOs list for 2019.
