Imagine offering consumers a programmable drink, providing dozens of options within a single product. With the push of a button, they could select the drink's flavor, color and nutrients, right in their own homes. A water-like substance, which through nano-encapsulation, could release any flavor profile, from milk to wine, within minutes. It's the ultimate form of customizable food, and it may become a reality sooner than we think. Nano-encapsulation could in fact do more than accommodate consumers' every appetite. What if through "smart food," products could be programmed to eliminate allergens? Or include necessary nutrients, even medicines? A single, tailor-made product, accessible for any target group through nanotechnology.
