Univar Solutions launched one of its newest innovations at Fi Europe (FiE) - seaweed. The use of seaweed in food is growing, with it being highlighted as a trending ingredient by various insight groups. PureSea is a unique range of organic, dried, milled Scottish seaweed that offers numerous benefits including flavor, shelf-life extension, salt reduction and nutrition. As a vegan natural source of iodine it can also support up to six EU approved health claims. Product applications such as seaweed-infused mayonnaise taps into the Permissible Indulgence trend highlighted by the company on show floor. Other themes included Simple Ingredients and Wellness and displayed protein cold brew coffee and wellness muffins as edible concept applications.
