The Chinese worsted wool fabric producer Jiangsu Danmao has launched a new range of fabrics featuring OJO+, a paper yarn made from Manila hemp produced in Japan. The process of producing the OJO+ yarn begins when a cauldron called 'Chikyu Gama' is used to make pulp from Manila hemp. Paper is then processed from the pulp, and the paper is slit 1-4 mm wide by a specially developed machine. The slit thread is then twisted into weaving or knitting yarn.
