Electronica Band Ratatat Blasts Off

On the indie scene, guitar solos are often spurned as self-aggrandizing indulgences best paired with teased hair, flying roundhouse kicks, and decades preceded by the number 19. Not so for Brooklyn electronica duo Ratatat. On LP4, out June 8, it's clear that big licks can still be cool-as long as they're served over scratchy samples, chest-rattling beats, and a United Nations of instruments, from Iranian drums to Japanese strings.
