Readers loved the DIY projects in June's Geek Dad package, from schematics for building a Buckminster Fuller blanket fort to a recipe for glow-in-the-dark gummy worms. "Making electric Play-Doh? That's awesome!" tweeted @peekababy. "The 'Mold a Dino Fossil' project made me giddy," chirped @erikwecks. But our cover caused a few frowns. "Couldn't you have called it 'How to Be a Geek Parent'?" asked Nora Rogers of Wellesley, Massachusetts. "As a female geek, I'm tired of being treated as an exception." (Nora, we hear you-don't miss wired's newblog at Geekmom.com.) Our favorite note, though, came from Martin Kelinsky of San Marcos, California, who sounds like the ultimate geek dad: "Your prop stylist wasn't thinking when Adam Savage was handed a crescent wrench to simulate working on the robot. A tool that size wouldn't be useful in the area where it's placed. A socket wrench or screwdriver would have been a better choice."
