The US Postal Service has faced many challenges in recent years—from UPS and FedEx, from email, from vicious dogs and Republican legislators. From 1999 to 2006, we put the beloved/besieged agency to the test by asking readers to mail us unusual parcels. Our experiment in "postal art" yielded endlessly weird wonders: a mannequin torso, a tinfoil hat, even a felt "long tail." Thanks, Postmaster General, for putting up with us. We're on your side.
