The winner of the Association of Naval Aviation's Chief Petty Officer Award for 2021 is PRC Dinia N. Cadette of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 74 (HSM-74). Aircrew Survival Equipmentman Chief Dinia N. Cadette, is originally from the village of La Plaine, located on the Caribbean island Commonwealth of Dominica. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2006 through St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Following recruit training, she completed PR A-School in Pensacola, Florida and has since served at multiple commands, including HS-11, VP-16,VP-5, VP-30,VFA-115, NATTC Pensacola and HSM-74. In recommending PRC Cadette for this recognition, her Command noted that PRC Dinia N. Cadette embodies what it means to be an exemplary mentor and Chief Petty Officer in the HSM community and across the Naval Aviation Enterprise. Throughout HSM-74's complex deployment schedule, PRC Cadette held multiple positions as LCPO for both the 13 A and 050 Workcenters, oversaw multiple maintenance programs, and, in a compressed timeline, was instrumental in acquiring all necessary personnel flight-deck equipment prior to two consecutive deployments in the 5th Fleet Area of Responsibility (AOR). In addition, PRC Cadette demonstrated commitment to fellow Sailors while serving as Command Climate Specialist in HSM-74's Command Equal Opportunity program, and was heavily involved in the career and personal development of individuals both in and out of the PR rate and across Carrier Air Wing 3 (CVW-3).
