This Award recognizes a Chief Petty Officer (E-7 to E-9) who has distinguished himself or herself by contributing directly to measurable improvement in the execution of the Naval Aviation mission, enhancing safety and readiness in the process.Senior Chief Garrett was born in Seattle, Washington and grew up in Alma, Arkansas. He graduated from Alma High School in May of 1989 and tried many jobs, from welder, service technician, electrician, forklift driver, and paramedic, before finally entering the Navy through the Delayed Entry Program in 2003. He completed Basic Training at Great Lakes in June 2003, and graduated from AE "A" School in Pensacola, FL.
