Pipes for Lowermoor

Following durapipe UK's inclusion on the South West Water specified product system TS411, Durapipe ABS pipework has been used within an expansion development at Lowermoor Water Treatment Plant. As part of an expansion to the plant, new manganese removal filters were fitted and it is essential that these are kept clean to ensure that they continue to perform to provide safe drinking water. An air scourer is used to clean the filters so contractor Nomenca required a pipework system that could transport clean air to the filters for use in the cleaning system. Durapipe ABS pipework and fittings in sizes 3" and 4" were selected to carry the clean air. It is vital that the air is kept clean and free from contaminants so Durapipe ABS was the ideal as its corrosion and limescale resistant properties ensure the air will remain clean over the lifetime of the system.
