In late October 2003, from the Mexican border to Magic Mountain, there were enough fires burning to completely fill Orange County. Within the San Bernardino County Fire jurisdiction alone, there were more than 30 miles of fire front at the same time. But there were other fires as well, including the Cedar, Simi, Peru, Padua and Paradise fires.
