AN INTERVIEW WITH PORAC PRESIDENT RON COTTINGHAM

The League's number one goal in 2004 is to secure passage of the Local Taxpayers and Public Safety Protection Act (the LOCAL initiative). Last month, Western City introduced a new series called "Partners in Democracy," which highlights the extensive grassroots contributions of our members and coalition partners. These efforts are essential if we are to pass this initiative that strengthens constitutional protections for local revenues. This month, Western City presents an interview with Ron Cottingham, president of the Police Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) and immediate past president of the San Diego Deputy Sheriffs Association. PORAC has endorsed the LOCAL initiative and joined the coalition effort to gather signatures and raise funds to secure its passage.
