Successful Demonstration of Welding Automation Marks Final Phase of PAWS Project

An end-of-project demonstration for the Programmable Automated Welding System (PAWS) project was recently completed at General Dynamics, Electric Boat Corp., in Quonset Point, R.I. This concludes the final pilot production phase of the PAWS project, sponsored at the Navy Joining Center (NJC) by the Navy Manufacturing Technology (MAN-TECH) program. The project team included Electric Boat Corp. (EB), MAST Automation, Inc., of Lynchburg, Va., and PHT, Inc., of Pittsburgh, Pa.
