Gaining membership of The Welding Institute and registration as Chartered or Incorporated Engineer via the Individual Route
What is the Individual Route? - It was created as part of the UK Standard for Professional Engineers, launched by the Engineering Council (ECUK) in late 2003 and implemented by institutions during 2004. The Individual Route provides the opportunity for candidates who have gained knowledge and experience, but who do not hold sufficient engineering academic qualifications to be able to demonstrate that they meet the requirements for TWI membership and registration. The Standard comprises a combination of academic engineering qualifications and competence and commitment requirements, which candidates must demonstrate they meet, before being awarded the appropriate class of Member and CEng/IEng registration.
