CRT ADDS £625,000 TO COTSWOLD BID

The Canal & River Trust has pledged £625,000 to the Cotswold Canal's Phase 1B restoration, adding to the £700,000 promised by Gloucester County Council and the £3m committed in February by Stroud District Council. The total cost of restoring the 4 miles of canal is estimated at around £19m and a bid for money will be made to the Heritage Lottery Fund in November 2017. The section would join the 6 miles of canal already restored to the national waterway network, giving boats access to Stroud and beyond.
