A feature of the Crick Boat Show that dates back to its earliest days is a display of historic canal boats at the quayside. A newcomer this year was former Grand Union Canal Carrying Company narrowboat Dover, built in 1937. Having later been part of the British Waterways maintenance fleet, the boat was left derelict for many years before being restored as part of the television documentary Narrow Boat made by i2i and first shown in September 2005. The programme blurb says that "The 68-year-old vessel will be given back its traditional rear cabin and an authentic 1930s external look, while internally it will be completely fitted out with state-of-the-art technology," WW was able to view the boat, which is now 81 years old and privately owned.
