ODOUR CONTROL FOR SEWERS AND TREATMENT PLANTS: SELECTION CRITERIA

Odour has been a prominent issue for decades and with residential development encroaching on wastewater treatment plants it is becoming more significant. There are many technologies available to either prevent odour generation or to remove odour from foul air streams. Some technologies have very limited applications and others can be used with success in a wide variety of situations. The most commonly used foul air treatment technologies and key factors in selecting the right technology for a given application are the subject of this paper.
