The Goulburn Broken Water Quality Strategy (WQS )rn(GBREWQC, 1997) was originally developed in thernmid 1990s. Strategy implementation was expected tornoccur over 20 years, finishing in 2016. Implementationrnhas been under way since the mid 1990s. The 1996rnversion of the WQS was reviewed in 2002 and 2008.rnThe original Strategy focused on reducing the riskrnand impacts of blue green algal blooms by reducingrnthe inputs of nutrients, especially phosphorus, tornwaterways and water bodies.
