Envision-a new system for rating the sustainability of civil infrastructure projects, including water management-is catching on in the United States and generating interest in other countries as well. The system is a collaboration between the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) in Washington, DC, and the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. According to Bill Bertera, executive director of ISI, the two-year old ratings system was designed specifically for projects in North America, but the organization is getting calls and inquiries every week from professional associations or companies in other countries, asking how they can institute a similar programme.
