Over 300 of the world's largest companies are being asked to report their water usage by the investor-backed Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), which issued water-disclosure questionnaires. The CDP has succeeded in convincing many businesses to disclose greenhouse gas emissions. However, CDP may have a harder time prodding water use information from companies based on the poor response to a recent corporate water risk report sponsored by Bloomberg, UBS, and CERES.
