Over the last 10 years, a series of meadow restoration demonstration projects in the Sierra Nevada has shown that large-scale meadow restoration can improve water supply, water quality and habitat for fish and wildlife. Here we discuss the hydrologic outcomes of the Indian Valley meadow restoration project in the Sierra Nevada and comment on the implications of this project for investing in meadows as water infrastructure that improves water supply and resiliency.
