Air conditioners condense water vapor from the air inside buildings. Typically, this condensate is discarded, but now a pair of entrepreneurs have developed a way to reuse this usually wasted water. U.K.-based David Davis and Graham Kelly invented an 18-L (4.7-gal) cistern called Encore that collects recovered condensate from air conditioning units throughout a building and uses that condensate to flush toilets.
