Survey lifts Pilbara water search to new level

An airborne electromagnetic survey which covered an area the size of Belgium gathered information about the quantity, quality and recharge of groundwater resources in Western Australia's Pilbara region. Aerial electromagnetic technology sends an electromagnetic pulse into the ground and the return signal provides information about local groundwater systems. The survey is part of an initiative to unlock the potential of the West Canning Basin's aquifers and it covered 24,000 square kilometres.
