Researchers with the University of Missouri (Columbia, MO, USA; www.missouri.edu) and USDA's Agricultural Research Service (Beltsville, Maryland, USA; www.ars.usda.gov) have designed an imaging device that can circumvent the traditional high costs and logistical challenges of using thermal infrared imagery to monitor crop health.
