摘要

Quynh Lam pagoda was a Buddhist center of primordial importance during the Golden Age of Vietnamese Buddhism under the royal dynasties of the Ly (1010-1225) and the Tran (1225-1400). The study of its development will enable us to better understand not only the nature of Vietnamese Buddhism but also the phenomenon of acculturation that took place in an ideological climate, allowing for the mixture of three doctrines imported into Viet Nam: Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. These three currents, often doctrinally contradictory, have nevertheless created the common cultural values of the nation, Buddhism and Taoism in particular, even though the rulers during Chinese occupation (until the 10th century) relied on Confucianism as their main ideology.
