When Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan decreed 10 months ago that a million African-American men should come together in the nation's capital for a day of "atonement," New York City's Rev. Al Sharpton asked the obvious question: "Atone for what?" Farrakhan, who has blamed whites, Jews, the U.S. government and others for slavery, AIDS and the ills of the African-American community, says he has nothing of substance to atone for. Indeed, the fiery orator seems an odd choice to lead a march in search of redemption.
