摘要

The induction of lens opacity, or cataracts, in the human eye has often been implicated as a potential adverse effect of human exposure to personal-communication radiation, and radio-frequency radiation in general. In the case of mobile phones, some concerns have been expressed when the user holds the mobile-phone handset, or the microwave radiating device, directly in front of the face, exposing the eye to a straight-on incidence of the mobile-phone radiation. Thus, the eyes could potentially be subjected to a higher level of micro wave radiation relative to exposures from the side of the head, where the handset is in contact with or next to an ear, and the amount of microwaves reaching the eyes would be substantially lower.
