The Local Dimension of Migration Policy Making

摘要

Recent statistics and studies since 2004 hav shown that cities are the most commoi gateways of immigration to the countries that the United Nations classifies as 'advanced industrial economies'. Especially in Europe, most foreign immigrants' labour market careers start from and circulate in these urban labour markets. As shown by Eurostat statistics, immigrants concentrate heavily in urban areas. These issues have a great impact on the pre-conditions of immigrants' integration into the labour market and the society.
