Eni hits market for new Angola floater

ITALIAN major Eni has hit the market with enquiries for a major new floating production, storage and offloading vessel and subsea hardware destined for its 1 billion barrel deep-water Agogo field offshore Angola. This decision will be welcomed by President Joao Lourenco's government as a further sign that upstream activities are picking up in Angola after years in the doldrums, with other projects on the move including TotalEnergies' FPSO-based Cameia-Golfinho scheme on Block 21 and a shallow-water gas project, also operated by Eni. Several subsea tie-backs and a swathe of development and infill drilling programmes are also being progressed, while an onshore licensing round recently attracted a decent number of bidders. State-owned Sonangol's high-profile offshore farm-out process is also set to attract fresh new investments. Eni has released four expressions of interest (EoI) to the market covering a new or converted FPSO as well as a subsea production system and an umbilical system for the deep-water Agogo project on offshore Block 15/06.
