Oil and gas companies may be taking their knocks these days but a handful have received top marks from US-based Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) in its recently released "2021 Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality" list. BP Americas, Chevron, ConocoPhillips and Shell Oil Company each scored 100% in the rights organisation's annual survey of midsize to large businesses, which rates companies based on their nondiscrimination policies, benefits for LGBTQ workers and their families, and support of "inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility". Supermajor ExxonMobil earned a score of 85% in the report, which HRC first published in 2002. Chevron earned a special mention for its membership in HRC's Business Coalition for the Equality Act, which is pushing for LGBTQ rights to be codified in US federal law.
