Equinor axes rig tender

EQUINOR has cancelled a tender for an ultra-deepwater rig needed for long-term development drilling on the Bacalhau development in Brazil's Santos basin, although the reasons for the move are not fully known. The decision to cancel was communicated by the Norwegian state-controlled player to companies participating in a tender that seemed to be going the way of rig giant Seadrill.
