Aker BP gets nod for Hod

NORWAY'S government has rubber-stamped Aker BP's $600 million development plan for its Hod field in the North Sea, a facility that will be powered from shore. The Ministry of Petroleum & Energy on 8 December approved the Hod plan for development and operation (PDO), which was submitted in June by the operator and its Oslo-based partner Pandion Energy. Hod is one of the first projects to be advanced to a PDO approval stage since the Oslo government in June brought in time-limited petroleum taxation breaks for oil companies to fast-track new field developments.
