Equinor targets rig for Barents Sea project

EQUINOR is sounding out the market for a high-specification rig for its challenging Wisting project in the Barents Sea off Norway as it looks to slash emissions at the envisaged development. Multiple people with direct knowledge of the matter told Upstream that the Norwegian state-controlled giant has held several meetings with high-profile rig operators since last month as it hunts a unit that will guarantee low carbon emissions and high efficiency.
