Race heats up for Qatari prizes

LEADING international engineering, procurement and construction contractors are battling it out for key onshore and offshore packages from Qatargas involving the further development of its giant North Field in Qatar. The Qatari giant is carrying out the tender process for multiple EPC packages comprising its North Field Expansion (NFE) and North field Sustainability projects, which are together worth billions of dollars. Up to four substantial onshore EPC packages are up for grabs for the NFE first phase but the tender process has been delayed by several months. Package 1 includes liquefaction facilities, Package 2 comprises the storage tanks, Package 3 comprises work on utilities and Package 4 involves sulphur-handling facilities.
