Platform tender delayed

INDIA'S Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has further delayed the tender process for a key offshore project that involves a living quarters platform project meant for its operations off the country's west coast. At least three people close to the development told Upstream that the state-owned giant recently pushed back by almost a month the bid submission deadline for its so-called NQL living quarters project. "Technical and commercial offers for the offshore project were earlier expected to be submitted in June but ONGC has delayed the submission until 16 July," one person confirmed. A second person said that the $300 million-plus tender has been delayed due to the uncertainties surrounding the Covid-19 situation in the state of Maharashtra, which acts as ONGC's base for offshore activities.
